Fort Decatur is located in the Southeast section of the city. It is located across 6th Ave from Delano Park and behind the Little Girl Scout House.

It hosts a variety of monthly clubs and organizations to include the Decatur Civic Chorus and the Bassmasters of North Alabama just to name a few. If you are interested in hosting your monthly meeting at Fort Decatur or maybe if you are looking for a place to hold a family dinner or a birthday party feel free to contact the recreation center for facility rental information.

Fort Decatur boasts a full size basketball gymnasium with bleacher seating, weight room, sauna, a racquetball court, table tennis, a meeting room upstairs that seats approximately 70-75 comfortably and a meeting room downstairs that seats approximately 30-35 comfortably.
