If you have a child who is interested in playing youth basketball, this is a great place to start or fine tune your child's skills. DPR's goal is to help create a fun and healthy experience with other youth in the area and to instill friendly competition and good sportsmanship.
All participants in DPR’s Youth Basketball League go through a skills evaluation so that we can balance the teams as best as possible. Although we cannot promise victories, we can promise that your child will get playing time no matter their skill level (minimum of half of a regulation game). All our games all called by knowledgeable officials who are AHSAA certified referees. These are the same referees used for high school and middle school basketball games. The coaches in our program are all NYSCA certified members and have gone through concussion training.
Youth sports offer your child opportunities to grow physically and socially as well as emotionally. Moreover, physical activities with other children allow them to build social skills through peer interaction.
