Decatur
Aquatic Club (DAC) Swim Team

If you love to swim
and enjoy making new friends, the Decatur Aquatics Club is the place
for you. The swim team focuses on the development of a swimmer through
competition and practices. We emphasize sportsmanship and team spirit.
We do this by competing in Parks and Recreation and Tennessee Valley
Conference meets during the summer, and we are an USA swim team during
the winter. There are seven different levels, so there is a place for
everyone. If you have completed Level 3 of swim lessons and can swim
the length of the pool unassisted, please call the Aquadome Pool
between the hours of 3:30pm-7:00 pm Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.

Masters Swim
Staying fit is a
lifelong challenge, and swimming is a perfect form of exercise whether
you are 8, 18 or 80! As we age, it becomes increasingly important to
incorporate fitness programs that provide needed cardiovascular
benefits without stressing the joints. For many people, swimming is the
perfect exercise choice! Decatur Masters is a year round club designed
for lap swimmers, triathletes, and competitive swimmers. It offers the
swimmer a chance to improve their stroke technique, speed, endurance
and overall health and fitness. We are members of the United States
Masters Swimming (USMS), which gives the club and the individual
swimmer insurance coverage and a subscription to the USMS Swimmer, the
official magazine of USMS. Decatur Masters is open to anyone 19 years
old and over. There are daily scheduled workouts tailored to the
different levels of swimmers provided by the qualified coach. For those
that want to compete, there are several scheduled meets during the
year. For more information contact the Aquadome at 341-4953 or Gail
Reinecke at 353-7540.
