The idea for an area high school soccer tournament began with conversations between West Morgan High School Girls Soccer Coach Brandon Rice and Jack Allen Recreation Complex Manager David Wisdom, and soon The River City Shootout was organized with leadership from West Morgan High School assistant coaches Steve Armstrong and Penny Phillips. An outpouring of support from many parents and friends of team members made this first annual tournament a tremendous success. Following weeks of rainy and cold weather, a welcome break came with much better climate for two days of excellent soccer weather!
