Parks & Recreation

The recreation centers and sports venues of Decatur Parks and Recreation proudly represent the recreational desires of Decatur-Morgan County and surrounding areas. State-of-the art facilities and equipment complimented by dedicated staff continue to keep our area on the cutting edge of recreational activities.

Recently, the Southwestern Athletic Conference women’s fast pitch softball championship was hosted by the Wilson Morgan Softball Complex. This provided national exposure for Decatur as ESPN-U televised the championship game live. The ESPN crew and the SWAC officials were elated with the arrangements and hospitality set in place by the DPR field crew and facility staff. with the professional support of the Decatur-Morgan County Convention & Visitor's Bureau!

This is but one example of how Decatur Parks and Recreation strives to bring quality events to our city with the welcomed additional consequence of tremendous economic impact in terms of hotels, restaurants, and other activities by visitors to these events.
Not only Wilson Morgan Softball Complex, and the Jack Allen Recreation Complex, but the recent EGGstravaganza hosted by Ingalls Pavilion, and the Outdoor Summer Camp, Ft. Decatur Kid’s Camp are wonderful examples of how Decatur Parks and Recreation not only serves our area but places us on the map as an attractive location for state, national and international exposure, as evidenced by the recent Open Cup Soccer Tournament hosting teams from Nigeria, Brazil, Bahamas, Bermuda, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and Mexico.
Decatur Parks and Recreation continues to be forward-thinking and proactive in its decisions to elevate parks and recreation activities and events as a standard for others to follow!
