Summer Camps

TC ALMON SUMMER ACTIVITIES

With summer almost here TC Almon Recreation Center is offering a variety of activities allowing your child to have a memorable and fun filled summer!
For two weeks in July, we will be offering our annual Outdoor Summer Camp and Archery Camp. The Outdoor Summer Camp is for children ages 8 -12 years.  Throughout the week the campers will participate in an array of activities such as scavenger hunts, trail walking, tent building, arts and crafts, archery and swimming just to name a few.  Through these activities, counselors and their groups will be laying the foundations for life-long skills, team work and cooperation among the group members and friendships that can last a life time.  All activities are supervised and will be promoting a safe and fun environment for your child to have the best possible camp experience.
This year’s Archery Camp is for Participants ages 10-16 years.  It will allow the beginner archer the chance to safely learn the basic skills of the shot process, and intermediate archers the opportunity to hone their developing skills. We will complete activities inside the gym with our indoor archery range and then take it outside to the beautiful outdoor archery range that we have here on site. This will give the participants the chance to shoot longer distances, simulate shooting from a tree stand and from a shooting blind. All the equipment is provided and all activities will be under the supervision of a certified level 3 National Training System coach.
Beginning in June, on Wednesdays we will be continuing our Tumble and Cheer Program with a different time of 2:30 pm -3:30 pm for ages 5-18 years.  The participants will be challenged to improve fitness, coordination and strength while focusing on flexibility, jumps, motions and tumbling. This is a year round class so there will be no disappointment at the end of summer!
